The Menace is 3!

So this happened! Our little Millie Menace turned 3 last week (25th January, is that last week?!).

We had a little birthday cake celebration on the Sunday so that she could actually see people as her birthday wasn’t until the Monday when Bella would be at school and MrV would be at work. As requested, she had a pink Barbie cake, and she even got to open some presents too.

On her actual birthday, I took her out for birthday lunch at Pizza Express, so she even got “birthday icecream”!

She certainly seemed to enjoy herself!

How did that happen!?!

I can’t quite believe it, but our little Millie is going to be 3 on Monday!! I can still remember quite clearly the night she was born, and here we are today her shouting at me that she wants to go shopping for her birthday cake “right now”!!
She’s come a long way this past year, from finally finding her voice (no thanks to her sister finally disappearing to school!), and her hair actually growing so I can tie it out of her face, and I’m loving watching her change.
It seems very strange to think that she’s going to be a big sister very soon, I can’t wait to see what she teaches little Twiglet. If he’s anything like her, I’ve definitely got my work cut out for me!!

Happy Birthday Anabel!!!

Last week was a very exciting week in our house. Apart from being my birthday on the Tuesday (which doesn’t seem so important now), our little princess had her 1st birthday!!!

Thursday 14th June 2012 –  HAPPY BIRTHDAY BELLA!!!

We got up extra early so she could open up some cards and presses before MrV went to work, here she is playing peek-a-boo with one of her new books… she did this with most of her cards too!

MrV and I bought her a Smart Trike, I think she was happy with it…

and it even came with a handy little phone incase she needs to make an important phone call!
Granny and Grandpa came over a bit later and we all went for a trip into town with her new toy, I got to play at steering her, though I think I need a bit more practice! We saw a couple of friends who had got her pressies too, she is a very lucky girl 🙂
On the Friday (15th June) MrV booked the day off work so we took her for her first visit to Whispnade Zoo. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t as great as it had been the day before, but she got to see lots of different animals and she seemed to love it. Here are a few of my favourite pics from the zoo…
Checking out the monkeys…

Up close and personal with a hippo!
She spotted a tiny mara

This is my favourite 🙂
On Saturday (16th June), it was Bella’s party! MrV and I were already exhausted after being up til nearly 1am the night before baking and icing cakes, and putting up the balloons and banners, it was going to be a tiring day! Little miss chilled out in her pj’s until Granny and Grandpa got round, then they took her out for a walk so we could hoover in peace! It wasn’t long before the guests started arriving, perfectly timed with the birthday girl waking up from her morning nap. Here are my favourite pics from the day…
What are those flashy light things mummy?
Ooh, my cakes!

This is my absolute favourite, my very little birthday princess 🙂
So much has happened in the space of a year, it’s gone so very quick. Whatever happened to my teeny tiny baby?! She’s definitely growing up already, I can’t wait to show her all of the photos and cards when she’s older, she was (is) a very spoilt little miss, I hope she enjoyed her birthday 🙂 xxx

Party planning!

Oh my goodness, can you believe our little princess is going to be 1 next month?!! Eek!!

With that in mind, we’ve decided to have a little party for her, and spoil her rotten! There’s not going to be too many people as it’s going to be at our house, but I thought it would be nice for her to have family and friends over to make a fuss of her (yes I know they do anyway!!).

Originally I just sent a text message to people to give them the details, but I thought it might be nice to have a proper invitation, so we can have one as a keepsake. I know, soppy mummy alert! I actually joined the Big Birthday Club on the Early Learning Centre website a few weeks ago, after they sent me a leaflet through the post, but I’ve had a look today and found that they have some invitations and party ideas free to download if you need some inspiration, how lovely is that?!

We’ll probably end up just eating sandwiches and cake… I say “we”… it’s probably going to be me, but what better reason to eat cake than to celebrate my baby girl’s first birthday!

I’m thinking I might go all out and have decorations too, here are some of my favourites…

Eek… giraffes
how adorable is this Tinkerbell costume!

Well it seems I have spent far too long already writing this post, I keep getting distracted by pretty things. I may change my mind anyway, soooo many different themes to choose from 🙂 I’ll keep you posted!
