A long overdue hooking post!

I’ve been crocheting now for a couple of years, thanks to MummyV getting me started, and YouTube keeping me going! If I remember rightly, I think my first project was a baby blanket for Amelia, which took far too long to finish!!
Since then, I’ve managed to get considerably better, and although I am only 30 (as MrV like to keep reminding me!) I enjoy it a lot! Hooking is a very good stress buster I’ll have you know! 😉

For the past few months, I’ve heard a lot about a “road trip scarf”, and although I have soooo many projects I’ve not finished yet, I wanted to give this one a go. I found the pattern through Ravelry (naturally!) but here is the link to the original source, Zooty Owl’s blog.

Here’s what I used to make the first of many scarves, I’m sure…
Cream: Sirdar Baby Snuggly DK
Purple: Razzle Dazzle DK by Woolcraft
Hook/s: 4.5mm and 5mm

It took me a while to get started, but once I’d got a few rows into the pattern, which is free by the way, it was really straight-forward. I had to ask for MrV’s opinion in deciding the number of rows to do each colour, which I’m sure you can imagine he was thrilled with 😉 and it didn’t take long at all to get to the right size. The second row of the border threw me quite a bit, even after watching Zooty Owl’s tutorial video, but I cracked it eventually! I added a tassel to each end, but didn’t add flowers to this one, I think the sparkle in the purple yarn was enough to prettify it, what do you think?
