A – Z of Me!

The lovely Lauren (@laurenhousewife) tagged me in her A – Z of Me post, so it’s only fair I share my own with you…..

ANORAK…Do you have a sad side?
I’m afraid so. I collect a lot of things. It used to be rubbers and keyrings, but now I’ve progressed to all things giraffe related. And pens!

BODY…What physical attribute would you most like to change?
Unfortunately I inherited my father’s ‘thunder thighs’ and have always hated them, I really wish they weren’t so big!

CELEBRITY…Which one would you most like to date and why?
I’m not a huge fan of the Scottish accent, but I’d happily swallow my words if Ewan McGregor knocked on my door!!

DEBUT …Tell us about your first ever blog post. What made you start blogging?
My first blog was about the lead up to my wedding, mainly to share my excitement with everyone! My new blog’s first post was all about my baby girl, written a month after I gave birth.

ERROR …What’s been your biggest regret?
Letting things escalate out of control with my family. If I’d have bitten my tongue, or grovelled, maybe my immediate family would have been at my wedding & I wouldn’t be ‘broken’.

FUNNY – who’s making you laugh?
Tim Minchin (@timminchin). He’s just hilarious. I’ve seen him live and I want to see him again!

GRAND…If we gave you one right now what would you spend it on?
This time last year I’d have said me. Now, all I want to do is buy pretty things for my baby 🙂

HOLIDAY… What’s your favourite destination?
Wells Next The Sea in Norfolk. That might seem pretty lame but that’s where my hubby proposed, it’s a special place.

IRRITATE… What’s your most annoying habit?
My untidyness. It’s got to be. It does get to the point that it annoys me, so I’ll have a huge tidyup. It’ll be a mess again a few days later!

JOKER…Whats your favourite joke {the one that makes you laugh everytime you hear it}?
I don’t know if you can call it a joke as such. Tim Minchin’s “Prejudice”. Every single time. if you haven’t heard it, look it up!

KENNEL… Do you have any pets?
At the moment we have a cat. I can’t wait til we can get a dog too 🙂

LOVE…Are you single, married, engaged, living with a long term partner?
I am married. We’ll have been married a year in November!

MEAL… Whats your ultimate starter, main and dessert?
Pate & French toast, Beef Lasagne with garlic bread, and some sort of cheesecake. Unfortunately due to the late onset of dairy intolerance most of that would have to be ‘altered’!

NOW…If you could be anywhere right now where would you be and who with?
I would be in a cosy log cabin infront of a real log fire, with my hubby and my baby. Roll on our anniversary trip 🙂

OFF DUTY…What do you do in your spare time?
In the past few years I started to make beaded jewellery, but as of this week I shall be (attempting to) turn my hand to silver impression jewellery. I’m very excited, I hope it works!

PROUD MOMENTS …What are you most proud of?
The birth of my daughter. As much as I wanted her, and went through NCT classes to gain knowledge, I was soooo not prepared for how painful labour would be. Due to the speed of it all I only had entinox, but with the help of my fantastic hubby, I got through it and gave birth to the most amazing little girl. Also I’m proud of my AAT (semi-) qualification. I passed the first two years but missed the third (damn business tax!). I never dreamed I would get that far.

QUEASY …What turns your stomach?
The sound of someone ‘snorting’ or whatever it is before they make it worse and ‘spit’. My hubby does it when he has a cold. Ick!
RELAX…How do you relax?
Usually listening to music. My Jack Johnson albums are my ultimate chillout music.

SONG…Whats your favourite song of all time?
How can anyone answer that? I can’t possibly narrow my favourites down to one! There are so many for so many different reasons.

TIME …If you could go back in time and relive it again, when would you choose?
When me & hubby first started dating. We tried to keep it a secret as we worked together but eventually people started noticing the looks!

UNKNOWN…Tell us something about yourself that no one else knows?
I went on a date with the waiter from my mum’s wedding! (I was 16!)

VOCAL…. Who is your favourite artist?
Jack Johnson seems to be at the minute.

WORK….. What is your dream job, and are you doing it now?
I wanted to be so many different things while I was growing up. Then I desperately wanted to be a mummy. Not a job exactly, it is hard work but I love my baby to bits, I couldn’t imagine my life without her now 🙂

XRAY…Any broken bones?
I broke my arm once, or was it my wrist? I had a collision with my friend, we were both riding our bikes!

YIKES…What’s been your most embarrassing moment?
I can admit to this now… I took something (a top maybe) back to a shop once and as the girl picked it up to scan it, a pair of knickers fell onto the counter!!! They were clean before you ask! Humiliation.com !!

ZOO…. If you were an animal, which one would you be?
I’d be my favourite animal. The giraffe. Not only would I be one of the most beautiful animals on the planet, I’d get to see what everyone was up to below me!

There you go, I did it at last! 🙂 Now to tag some of you…

My MooSkins review :)

A couple of weeks ago, I noticed a post on Twitter asking for people to review MooSkins personalised phone covers. Naturally, I jumped at the chance!

It wasn’t too long ago that I found Mooskins via a lovely Twitter lady. This was shortly after I’d given birth to my beautiful little girl, and was over the moon to find a company that could put her face on my phone!
In the past, I have spent far far too much on phone cases. Before I upgraded to my wonderful iPhone4, I had an iPhone3, and 10 cases for it! So on average if 1 case costs £5 (which we all know they don’t!), I’d spent £50 on cases! I wasn’t about to make the same mistake again with my new phone! However, I tried case after case, I think I have at least 4 thrown away in a drawer somewhere, but they just didn’t ‘work’. This is where MooSkins came to my rescue!
I now have 2 covers/cases from the lovely people at MooSkins, the second one was kindly sent to me so that I could review it for you all. Where do I start?!

Picture quality;
For my first cover, I sent a photo that was a bit grainy, though it didn’t come out too bad! For my new mooskin, I sent one of my favourite photos of my baby…

… I was not disappointed! The quality of the photo on my cover is really good, and the colour has come out wonderfully. Originally I had worried about the photo wrapping around the sides, as I thought it may make the photo itself look odd, but it wraps perfectly. On the website (www.mooskins.com) when you purchase a phone cover, you’re able to resize, rotate and re-position your photo before it is sent, which is marvellous as it gives you the control on how your case will look. When I sent my photo to MooSkins, they positioned the photo for me, and I’ve got to say it’s perfectly placed!

The actual case;
There is nothing bad I can say about the quality of my cases. When I received my first, I was so disappointed as I could not get my phone to go in. It looked like it should fit, but I didn’t want to break it putting my phone in, so my hubby came home from work (!) to do it for me. It turns out I just needed to be firm with it, so when my second arrived, I wasted no time in taking my old one off and replacing it with my even better (and pink!) new one!

The plastic itself is so strong, I’ve never found a case like it. Once the phone is in, there are no little gaps, the case fits like a very snug glove, leaving access to the volume buttons on the side, the power button on the top, and the dock connector on the bottom.

Strength & durability;
Unfortunately, I seem to be quite a clumsy person, when I’m not dropping my phone, it just gets thrown in my bag, careless I know, with my keys for company. Fortunately MooSkin phone cases are both scratch resistant and chip resistant. That’ll come in handy when I’m trying to multi-task pushing a buggy and talking to hubby… oh wait, that happened. Luckily after I’d picked up my phone from the floor, I did indeed notice that it was safe and sound in its little case. Phew!

When you receive your personalised MooSkin case, which I’m sure you’ll be ordering shortly, it will arrive snug in a little vac-formed plastic box in a padded envelope, nice and safe. Mine also took as little as 48 hours to reach me, you can’t ask for better than that!

Honestly, if it wasn’t for the fact that I now have a fab case, I would be ordering more! Perhaps when my little girl gets a bit bigger I’ll treat myself! For now, visit their site and order your own!

Go on, you know you want to!
